On Saturday, June 17, 2017, Healthfirst launched their annual Health & Wellness Expo at the Clermont Healthy Village in Bronx, NY. There was a huge attendance at this event that provided participants with increased awareness on health issues affecting their community.
“I’m excited to launch the 2017 Health & Wellness Expo series to share critical resources, educate the community, and provide proactive steps towards leading a healthy lifestyle,” said George Hulse, Healthfirst Vice President of Community Engagement. “We want to foster an open and engaging dialogue on common health issues—like diabetes and heart disease—that are preventable with access to quality care and support.”
Prominent elected officials and medical experts attended the event as well. A town hall featured a panel discussion during which several health experts and elected officials discussed how to effectively manage diabetes and as well as how to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.
Free medical screenings, prizes and giveaways, massage therapists, fitness workshops, and smoothie samples were all offered in the Health & Wellness Pavilion. Live concerts and entertainment added to the festivities.
The goal of Healthfirst is to provide an indoor and outdoor wellness experience that is both interactive and informative.
