NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst has taken another step forward in modernizing its medical facilities with the unveiling of a newly renovated radiology room designed to better serve the needs of Queens residents. The $450,000 renovation brings advanced imaging technology and improved patient flow to one of the hospital’s busiest departments.
Equipped with a new state-of-the-art GE X-ray machine, the upgraded space is expected to serve more than 15,000 patients per year—enhancing diagnostic precision and expanding capabilities for both emergency and inpatient care.

The new X-ray unit isn’t just an equipment upgrade—it represents a leap forward in how Elmhurst delivers imaging services. The machine is capable of producing higher-quality images and performing fluoroscopy procedures, a technology that allows for real-time internal imaging often used in critical diagnostic and treatment settings.
By improving image quality and streamlining workflow, the hospital expects faster turnaround times for results and greater comfort for patients, especially those arriving through the emergency department.
