PureGym is making a major push into New York City with a rollout built around true 24/7 access, aiming to give residents the ability to work out on their own schedule, day or night. According to an official announcement issued via NYC Newswire, the company is launching 56 gym locations across New York and New Jersey, most of which will open with around-the-clock access, with the remaining locations set to follow in the coming months.
Upgraded Gyms at Affordable Prices
Formerly operating under the Blink Fitness brand, each gym has been upgraded and rebranded to reflect PureGym’s fitness model of providing premium gym equipment at an affordable price. The expansion comes as more consumers seek flexible and lower-cost fitness options that fit the realities of their work and family lives.
Closing the Gap for Night-Shift and Early Morning Workers
PureGym says it recognized a critical gap in the New York City market: fitness was largely inaccessible to night-shift and early morning workers. For these New Yorkers, access to fitness at any time “isn’t a luxury; it’s essential in helping to offset overnight stressors and circadian disruption that come with working off hours.” With the new 24/7 model, the company states that New Yorkers now have the ability to prioritize their health and wellness on their own schedule.
A 24/7 Fitness Mission for the City That Never Sleeps
“We believe everyone should have access to high-quality fitness, at any time they want, and we’re committed to making that possible for New Yorkers,” said Rebecca Passmore, Group Chief Operating Officer. “Our mission is to inspire healthier nations and we are thrilled to finally bring the city that never sleeps a true 24/7, affordable way to prioritize their well being.”

Equipment, Pricing, and Membership Flexibility
Across the upgraded portfolio, members will find full suites of strength-training and cardio equipment, including free weights, barbells, racks, assisted machines, treadmills, ski ergs and rowers. Memberships start at monthly rates from $24.99 to $39, with single day passes also available. Members can choose from a range of options and have the flexibility to pause or terminate their membership at any time.
Safety, Cleanliness, and Support for All Fitness Levels
Certified Personal Trainers will be available, which PureGym describes as some of the most affordable trainers in New York, supporting everyone from beginners to experienced athletes in building safe, sustainable fitness habits. The gyms will also operate under the company’s TrainSafe standard, emphasizing safety, cleanliness, and a space “that feels good for everyone,” with 24/7 security cameras recording 365 days a year. Each location is supported by a corporate-backed infrastructure designed to provide centralized investment, reliable upkeep, and ongoing improvements.
Pilot Locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens
Three New York City locations, in Canarsie, Brooklyn, on 54th St. in Manhattan, and in Woodside, Queens—have been designated as pilot sites and received additional upgrades beyond the portfolio-wide improvements. In response to growing demand for strength and hybrid training, these gyms include turf with sleds, hack squat machines, Olympic weight lifting machines, dumbbells up to 110 pounds, assault bikes, as well as slam balls and wall balls. These locations will be used to evaluate member response to the premium upgrades, which reflect the high-value, low-cost format PureGym has pioneered in Europe. In the New Year, the company plans further improvements across its entire portfolio, building on what it describes as an initial multi-million-dollar investment.
Grand Opening Events on December 8
To mark the launch of the pilot locations, PureGym will host grand opening events on December 8 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the 54th St., Canarsie, and Woodside gyms. The celebrations will feature giveaways, a DJ, a photobooth and more, and are open to anyone who wants to experience the new spaces. The first 25 people to check in during the event at each pilot location will receive an exclusive gift. Free day passes will also be available using promo code FREEDAY, valid from December 8 to December 14, allowing guests to try the gym with no obligation.
Serving New York’s Around-the-Clock Workforce
While the broader rollout includes locations in New Jersey, PureGym’s latest investment is especially significant for New York City, where the company is positioning true 24/7 access as a direct response to the city’s around-the-clock workforce.
