The Medgar Evers College 5K Run/Walk promises to be the event of the summer – a chance to walk for a good cause through Central Brooklyn, a dynamic, diverse cultural hub in the most important city in the world!
Designed to be the quintessential community building exercise, the Medgar Evers College First-Year Student Orientation in August culminates with the Medgar Evers College 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, August 19, 2017. It provides an opportunity for our entering students to meet, interact and engage in a meaningful way with the broader Medgar Evers College community. The Run/Walk serves as a pride building event, fundraiser, and a recruiting tool through visibility and community-building. Entering students, continuing students, faculty, staff, community neighbors, family and friends will run/walk together to build pride and raise money for student scholarships. Participants will stroll down closed streets, lined with banners from our corporate partners. Along the route, our corporate partner’s volunteers will behanding out water and towels to participants.
The walk concludes on the Medgar Evers College campus with the Awards Ceremony, refreshments and entertainment.
