7 Stretches to Start Your Day

For New Yorkers on the run…Stretching each morning can provide health benefits throughout the day. It helps your mind and body in several ways. Overall, it is an easy way to increase flexibility, improve circulation, and reduce stress. Let’s look at some examples of stretch and yoga poses.

  1. Downward Dog (Figure 1)
  • Lengthens and reduces pressure on the spine
  • Stretches the hamstring
  • Stretches the arms
  • Allows for fresh oxygen to run through the brain and helps you to stay calm
